Watch out Paint Nite- you've got some competition!

Who has participated in a Paint Nite?  Probably more than a few of you and you've probably even done it more than once. This is great. The concept of Paint Nite - a bunch of friends get together, loosen up a bit thanks to a little alcohol, and create a painting under the tutelage of an instructor-is brilliant.  It showed people how relatively easy, and not all that scary, painting, much less painting in public, can be. For some, they always wanted to learn to paint but were intimidated. This trepidation was mollified by the introduction of alcohol and also the inclusion of friends. For others, they've always liked painting and this was a great excuse to hang out with friends and maybe show off their skills. For others, their girlfriends made them do it.  Whatever the reason, it got people out there, painting, being creative, using the left side of their brains. But then the naysayers popped up (there are always naysayers.)  Naysayer #1: "It's just paint by number. Everyone paints the same thing. Naysayer #2: Another painting? I'm not opening a gallery so how many paintings do I really need? Naysayer #3: It's just an excuse to get drunk. These are all valid points.  So what does it take to quiet the naysayers? A trio of brilliant women who took the concept of Paint Nite and kicked it up a notch.  Enter StudioHue.

StudioHue is the brain child of Alicia, Kimberley and Christine.  All wildly talented in their own right, this group of friends got together to give you the opportunity to be creative, hang out with your friends, yes drink alcohol, and make something actually usable.  Their thought process was why not give folks the opportunity to make something they actually want to make and will use or give away as a gift. (While I'm sure your paintings are wonderful let's be honest, they will probably still end up in your mom's attic).
