Here at Thin Ice we're gearing up for Black Friday, the momentous day following Thanksgiving when consumers stampede to stores to get the lowest priced items they can find, usually only trampling a few small children and old ladies in the process. I've given it great thought and decided NOT to open my store at 5:00am. If anyone was planning on starting their shopping on Elmwood at such an early hour please let me know so that I may call you crazy.
Lots of inventory has been coming in but I am resisting putting out the Christmas themed items as I feel badly for Thanksgiving, the underappreciated holiday that it is. Personally I love Thanksgiving as I feel it is much more of a family oriented, cozy holiday than Christmas, which is more about toys and wrapping paper and exhausted parents who stayed up until 4am wrapping their kids' gifts.
In Elmwood Avenue news Mother Nature has been kind to us lately and gifted us with amazing weather which I'm sure proved advantageous to the roofers working across the street from my store on the roof above Dolci. I wasn't aware roofers speak a language other than english. While it's not quite binary code it is comprised of mostly numbers with a few monosyllabic words thrown in.
The new Tokyo Shanghai Bistro on Elmwood is wonderful! If you haven't tried it yet I strongly urge you to. Both the Japanese and Chinese offerings were terrific!
