Welcome to the occasional Featured Artist Friday here at Thin Ice. For this week's edition, we are featuring Christine's Wild Imagination!
Christine makes beautiful cutting boards by hand burning designs into them. No two are ever alike and the detail and imagination with which she employs her craft is truly unparalleled. At Thin Ice Christine's boards sell steadily as wedding gifts, birthday gifts, housewarming gifts, and as hostess gifts especially when traveling abroad as they are light and easy to travel with.
Christine has held many interesting jobs including various positions with Disney World (!!). Christine gravitated to, and subsequently fell in love with, the art of wood burning as an outlet for her creative energy and also as a way to focus her bipolar tendencies. Through her art Christine is able to stay focused and steady, something she at times thought could not happen due to being bipolar. In addition to selling her art at Thin Ice, Christine also participates in many craft shows, in the interest of selling her work and also with the goal of educating others like her, who have a passion but feel they can't go forward with it due to depression, anxiety, being bipolar, etc. Christine is living proof that nothing holds you back but you and if you believe in yourself, you can overcome what once you thought you couldn't.
